When Breanna reached out to me to photograph her small micro wedding in Terlingua at La Posada Milagro – one of the most quaint, locally owned buisness in the area, she had actually never been there before. Her and Quentin had tried to visit Big Bend a couple time before, but due to Covid and the snowpocolyps, they were never able to make it work, so in their naturally adventurous spirited way, they decided to just get married out there instead!
The details of this wedding were absolutely perfect. Their theme, ‘Disco in the Desert’ was beautifully executed with disco balls, glitter, bright blue cowgirl boots and colorful dried flowers – where each color represented a loved one or a friend.
They even had hand forged their wedding bands over Thanksgiving in Salida, Colorado.
Breanna + Quentin had planned something special for their ceremony – a ring warming, which is where both wedding bands are passed around to all the guests to bless or send well wishes before returning to couple with all the love of your friends and family.
They also chose to add another tradition, in Terlingua fashion, where they passed around mini bottles of liquor for everyone to take a shot with them before the tied the knot.
Everything about this day from a photographers stand point was perfect. We had diffused clouds all day and at sunset, that magic glow of the desert was unreal.
and to top it all off with the Giminid Meteor Shower with those dark Big Bend skies…
